Aishwarya returned 'Heroine' signing amount :

She is no longer part of the project ‘Heroine’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan returned the signing amount to the producer. UTV did not asked Ash to return the money but Aishwarya felt that she should return the amount.

She is liable to take the money as she has done eight days shooting and also took part in the look tests and done photo shoot for the movie. Aishwarya also gave costume trial. It was her right to keep the money but she din’t.

Both the production house and Ash’s spokesperson confirmed about the cheque return. Aishwarya is in the best phase of her life and she wasn’t want to take the blame of the film’s reliance.

Finally Kareena said yes... :

Finally Kareena Kapoor has agreed to step into the shoes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the movie ‘Heroine’. Kareena was the first choice of Madhur for the film. However, the actress had refused to do it since she felt that the content of the film was too bold.

UTV’s CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur and the writer of Heroine Niranjan Iyengar flew down to Hyderabad on Monday to meet Kareena who had been spending some time with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan.

A source informed, “Kareena has consented to the snorting, drinking and smoking scenes. Earlier, she had strong reservations against them. Now, she just doesn’t want to do the explicit lovemaking scenes with Arjun Rampal and Sudhir Mishra’s discovery Arunoday Singh. Those scenes are extremely sexy and Kareena is just not comfortable doing them.”

Madhur approached Kareena for Heroine again :

The most recent buzz in Bollywood is that Director Madhur Bhandarkar has quietly approached Kareena Kapoor to step in the breach left by Aishwarya Rai’s exit from Heroine.

But, Bhandarkar denied the news of approaching any actress, Madhur said, “Speculations in the media of me approaching actresses for my film HEROINE are totally baseless!!! Whether I will revive my film HEROINE, will decide after consultations with UTV or a fresh film, will surely update u in near future!!!”

Apparently, at the outset, moviemaker Madhur Bhandarkar had scripted ‘Heroine’ with Kareena Kapoor in mind, but due to some uncomfortable bold scenes in the movie Kareena rejected the offer.

Then later on Madhur finalized Aishwarya to play the protagonist in his flick.

However, this decision of the filmmaker also turned out to be fruitless as Ash became pregnant after the film went on floors, and the project unfortunately shelved.

According the latest news, when Kareena was asked if she was approached by madhur for ‘Heroine’ again after Ash’s pregnancy, the actress preferred to say, “No comment.”

Ash should have told me the truth - Madhur :

Now days, Madhur Bhandarkar is in depression. He does not know how to react as his most ambitious project ‘Heroine’ shelved. He has been working on the script of film ‘Heroine’ for one and half years and was taken aback to know that the main protagonist of the movie Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is five months pregnant. He was happy for Ash but at the same time depressed thinking about the faith of his film. He is upset, why Ash did not inform him earlier about it.

Madhur finds Aishwarya responsible for his loss towards the film as she hid the pregnancy news. He said that if he would know it before he would not have announced the movie at Cannes and would not have shot the first look of ‘Heroine’. It was a huge film and everything was almost complete and the film was to go on floors on June 7. Knowing the news so late is a huge loss for the entire unit.

The main lead needs to do things which a pregnant woman could not afford to do so and hence Madhur could not drag a pregnant woman to do things which may bring trouble to her new born. She needs to smoke, run, drench on waterfalls, get physical with the male leads, etc. Madhur feels that if some unpleasant things happen during the shoot then he would never be able to forgive himself.

Madhur has decided to put ‘Heroine’ on hold for the time being.

Karishma may do 'Heroine' replacing Ash :

Aishwarya’s pregnancy has put a hurdle in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next flick Heroine. The shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar’s ''Heroine'' has been put on hold indefinitely due to lead star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy, producers said. UTV Motion Picture said in a statement, "We would like to put an end to the speculative and factually incorrect stories that are doing the rounds on Heroine, and to clarify the position on the film once and for all. At this point nothing is more important than Aishwarya’s well being and good health.”

After reports of the film being delayed and Ash not working in it, there are suggestions of many other heroines being considered for the main role. “Ash may not be doing Heroine, but that hasn’t closed any options for Madhur and UTV. Some of the other big names doing the rounds are Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra and Karishma Kapoor,” says a source.

Priyanka Chopra has denied all reports of being approached by Madhur. Actually, given their earlier association, she seemed like an apparent choice. Nevertheless, the makers are keen on Karishma and Rani doing the role. “Hottest of them all is Karishma since she’s making a comeback with Vikram Bhatt’s film. She’s the most experienced of them all. And as she belongs to the first family of Bollywood, she understands the industry very well, better than Ash. No one could have performed better,” says a film devotee.

Talks of Rani Mukherjee too are also doing the rounds since the other actresses aren’t an option. Preity Zinta has kind of retired from films, Urmila Matondkar would be too old which leaves Madhur with no choice but Rani. She may not be as charismatic as the others, but is definitely in demand,” adds our source.
