Aishwarya announced as the first Goodwill Ambassador for Smile Train :

The most beautiful woman in the world Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has today been announced as the first Goodwill Ambassador for Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft charity. Recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, Aishwarya will now be adding one more role to her illustrious career.

Ash will work with Smile Train to achieve an ambitious new goal in helping change the lives of over one million children worldwide who suffer from shame and isolation because of cleft lip and cleft palate.

The 37 years old actress will work to help provide free cleft lip surgery to children in 76 developing countries around the world, including India.

Speaking in reaction to the worldwide announcement, Aishwarya states, “God has given me plenty of reasons to smile and I feel it's time to spread it around. There are a lot of children out there who so desperately need help, but can’t receive timely care because their families cannot afford this surgery or are ill-educated about this condition. Working with Smile Train, if I can make a difference in their lives, it will certainly make me feel honored and blessed.”

Aishwarya will continue working post delivery :

Aishwarya Rai may be losing out many of her profitable ventures because of pregnancy. If not Heroine Aishwarya has lot more films to think about. Though Madhur Bhandarkar is still in a shock, Ash has moved on it seems. But those who have been under the doubt if she would continue working in the films post delivery must check this news out.

We have heard from the sources that the gorgeous beauty is all set to resume her work post delivery and to confirm that she has even signed a film to be shot in the year 2012.

Confirming the news Vikram Malhotra said, "We've signed Aishwarya for a film that starts late 2012. We've discussed a couple of exciting script ideas that she has liked. She has committed to doing the film next year. She will be consulted for the final subject of the film.The scripts have been selected keeping her stature in mind. We will soon finalise a project in close consultation with her." The actress' spokesperson confirms, "Aishwarya is doing the film next year."

Which means attaining motherhood won’t stop Ash from doing her job as an actress. She has successfully managed to give hits after marriage and now it would be interesting to see if she can create the same magic after turning Mumma!
